Meeting the Public Sector Apprenticeship Target

The government has set a target that public sector bodies with 250 or more staff in England have a target to employ an average of at least 2.3% of their staff as new apprentice starts over the period 1st April 2017 – 31st March 2021. As a trust we committed to promoting the apprenticeship opportunities for our staff both for recruitment and training, but we do want to ensure quality of provision for all our staff. We also recognise the actual barriers to enabling apprenticeships and are working with our academies and providers to overcome these and achieve the target set.
