Business Admin Apprentice - Exeter

Post Title: Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice

Pay Scale: £5.00 per hour (£185pw)

Location: St Christopher’s C of E (Primary) Multi-Academy Trust, Basepoint Business Centre, Exeter, EX2 8LB

Start date: January 2020 (fixed term for 18 months, to be reviewed as per duration of the course)


St Christopher’s Multi-Academy Trust is a growing family of church and community primary schools based across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay local authorities, delivering education to over 3,000 primary school children. The post of an Apprentice to the Trust’s central team is a new role and an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to start out on a career in administration, retrain or re-join a career journey. We already have several Apprentice roles across our Trust, so you would be joining an established community and proven environment that supports Apprentices to thrive.



The role is based from our small but busy central office in Exeter, where you’ll cover finance, accounting and HR. During your apprenticeship you will work towards achieving a L3 Diploma in Business Administration and will be supported by our team to give you plenty of great opportunities to prove and practice the areas of your learning. We’re a Trust that works by our values, so the way you work is important to us too. You’ll be personable with excellent communication skills, take initiative and deliver on what you commit to do. You’ll have great organisation skills with a calm approach and be willing to learn new systems and adapt to pick up different areas of administration as needed to support the central team. You will be dealing with personal data so confidentiality is key.


You need a commitment to your own learning through the apprenticeship programme to achieve your L3 Diploma. You’ll be supported in this by working as part of our central team at St Christopher’s, based in Exeter, where you will report directly to the Operations Manager HR but will work closely with all members of the central team. Some travel around other Trust academies and venues (travel to be paid) is sometimes required. (If you currently do not drive this can be accommodated in the short term).

Responsible to: HR Manager, with day to day supervision from Compliance and Administration Manager

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, over 5 days (1 day a week is for attendance at Exeter College to undertake study-based training). You will be working over 39 weeks per annum.
