Operations Manager (Human Resources)

Contract: Full time permanent post.  Hours and annual leave flexed to fit the Trust (academy) calendar. Refer to detail in Job description

Salary: £38,495 - £44,737 (19/20 rates).

Benefits: Pension Scheme (Local Government Pension Scheme)

Location: Based at St Christopher’s C of E (Primary) Multi-Academy Trust, Unit 5, Basepoint Business Centre, Yeoford Way, Marsh Barton, Exeter, EX2 8LB.   Travel around the Trust’s academies (travel to be paid) will be required.

Start date: Ideally the candidate would start on 9th September 2019.

St Christopher’s consists of 16 academies in Exeter, East Devon, Plymouth, Torbay and West Dartmoor, delivering education to over 3,000 primary school children.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Human Resources Manager to assist our Financial Controller.  The role will include developing the central HR service within our organisation, to support our family of academies, ensure HR compliance at all levels and help drive our HR strategy forward.


We are looking for an experienced HR professional, who is approachable, pragmatic and is passionate about identifying HR solutions that will support St Christopher’s to develop and meet our educational priorities.


You will work as part of our central team at St Christopher’s based in Exeter.   You will report directly to the Financial Controller but will work closely with all members of the central team, Heads and Academy Business Managers based at our academies.  You will be able to work with initiative, meet demanding deadlines as well as be personable, well organised, calm, and have excellent communication and IT skills. The job will involve prioritising and effective communication within the team. You will be willing to learn new systems and be capable of flexible working in a fast -paced Trust environment.
